A pro-democracy and support group in the fold of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria, Progressive Youths for Justice & Development Initiative, has frowned at the evil machinations and activities of some disgruntled party leaders and few of their accomplices to malign and crucify the Gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Abia state, Dr Uche Sampson Ogah.
The statements by the group came on the backdrops of a recent viral online news report, purporting that a magistrate court in Abia state had issued a bench warrant to the state Commissioner of Police to arrest and detain Ogah for failing to appear before it to face query on the latest allegation of forgery of election results of the concluded APC gubernatorial primaries, leveled against him by a faction of the party leadership loyal to Mr Ikechi Emenike who emerged as the APC factional gubernatorial candidate in Abia state for the next year elections in the federation.
Reacting, the pro-democracy Organization, Progressive Youths for Justice & Development Initiatives (PYFJDI), in a statement iby the national Coordinator, Comrade Nwachukwu Maxwell, on Monday noted the latest purported bench warrant and forgery allegation slammed on Ogah was part of the politcal gimmicks of Mr Ikechi Emenike and corhorts to stop the ex-minister from becoming the next governor of Abia state and described the unfolding scenario as pertaining the purported forgery case as political witch hunting which smacked of personal aggrandizements and political selfishness.
The group which insisted that Abia factional party leader and his co travellers has proclaimed themselves as visible enemies of democracy, and has deliberately refused to toe the path of laws by accepting the recent judgement of a federal high court in Abuja which sacked him as the APC gubernatorial candidate in Abia state, and regretted that Emenike has resorted to cheap blackmails and cheap blackmail as openly demonstrated giving the latest and purported news on trumped-up forgery case against Ogah, describing the ex-minister as a man of proven integrity, and uncommon acumen, and requisite capacity and dexterity to address headlong the persistent challenges impeding the human, economic and Infrastructural developement in the state if given the maximum supports in the coming elections by next year to emerge successfully as the next governor of Abia state.
The non governmental body also drew the attention of the Nigeria Security agencies on the uncovered activities of the serial election loser and factional gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Mr Ikechi Emenike to mobilize different groups of persons within and outside Abia state to stagedmanage match protests in strategic streets in Umuahia and Aba metropolis aimed at painting Honorable Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako led Abuja high court in a bad light and pressurizing the Nigerian judiciary, the appellate court and supreme court of Nigeria into succumbing to their illegalities and whims and caprices,
It stated, “Mr Ikechi Emenike’s devious antics and and curry undue sympathy from the populaces in Abia, and also absolve himself from the open illegalities aided by some past mischevious national officers of the party in Abuja. This lastest undemocratic, infantile and outdated style of Emenike’s will hit the rock like a pack of cards as nothing good comes out from him, instead his continued demonstrations and penchant to destroying every laudable strides recorded in the development of APC Abia, and indeed, the entire igbo nation”.
The APC youth group also drew the attention of Ikechi Emenike and co-travelers that it remained a verifiable fact on record that Uche Ogah maintains clean bills of healths in public services as then Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, and in the private sector-driven business investment as foremost industrist with business conglomerates across the country, , African continent, and the globe, adding that the fomer Nigerian stood tall among equal who had contributed immensely in the diversification and development of the nation’s economy especially in area of remittance of generated internal revenue to the federal government being used today in building of critical infrastructural projects in many parts of the country.
The orgainzation further reminded Emenike and a crop of his few foot-soldiers that the current mood in Abia state calls for purposeful, effective and responsive governance at all levels of the state leadership, and also reiterated the above-mentioned yearnings by the people propelled the foremost industrist sojourned into the murky water of Nigeria politics, and had continued to make himself available in seeking to be elected as Abia governor, so as to replicate those bunch of excellent and uncommon strides he recorded in public and private sector-driven leadership which is being rated as top best in global market today when elected into office of Abia governor in 2023
“No amount of campaign of calumny, name-calling, character assassination, cheap and infantile media propaganda, mudslinging, orchestrated by these serial election losers will stop or pose as a hindrance and threat in stopping the ebullient and leading Abia Governorship ticket-bearer of the APC, Uche Ogah not to fly the gubernatorial flag of All Progressives Congress in next year’s general elections.
“Our able leader believes God giveths leadership power and takeths power, as nothing will make him to back out from the race. He’s in race to win election and form next government in the state and rewrite bad narratives in governance of the ststo be able to provide most ofthey necessities of life.
“What we saying? Ogah will foster and ensure democractic dividends and impactful amenities are brought to every doorsteps of the Abia masses most importantly, towards achieving greater growth in development of the state’s economy and critical infrastructure when his administration is elected into office next year”.
While reiterating that Ogah and the All Progressives Congress are focused and prepared for the coming elections in Abia as he cannot succumb to the satanic machinations and blackmail and media propaganda of anti–democracy forces, the Progressive Youths for Justice & Development Initiative, admonished the Abia citizens and the general public to discontenance and ignore frivilous and politicallly orchestrated suit by unscrupulous individuals who are bent to trade Abia APC for selfish personal aggrandisement and cheap political gains in the forthcoming general elections in the state.
The socio-political organization also advised Emenike and his group of disgruntled party followers to submit themselves to genuine electoral process towards complementing the collective efforts of loyal party members and patriotic Nigerians to deepen the present democracy in the country.
