The good people of the Abocho community in Biraidu District of Dekina LGA of Kogi State celebrated their annual Ibagwu festival in a grand style in the presence of notable personalities including sons and daughters of the community among them the paramount ruler of the community, HRH, the Onu Abocho, Ajofe Okai Jonah Idrisu.
The chief priest of the community stated that they were in the palace of Onu Abocho for royal blessing and emphasized that, this is the first Onu Abocho to receive all the custodians of royal clans to the stool of Onu Abocho and the motive of the visit is in commemoration of the festival and blessing of the king, stating that, the land shall witness continued peace, progress, and development.
Responding, the Onu Abocho, HRH Ajofe Okai Jonah Idrisu appreciated the custodian of the masquerade and the traditional institution of the community, he assured them of his cooperation for continued peace and development of the community, the Onu Abocho urged them to go about their practice in a peaceful manner.
It could be recalled that the good people of Abocho and its environs largely believe in Islam, Christianity, and African Traditional Religion, and the three religions have been together for a long time and stayed side by side peacefully in the community.
