By Sadiq Abubakar, Abuja.
An activist, Comrade Muktar Akosh, has petitioned the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police commissioner, CP Sunday Babaji, over the creation of a platform, FCT Youth Network which has Commandant Isaac David as its executive director.
Akosh, a native of Kwara state in his petition, claimed that the creation of the FCT Youth Network will incite violence and social instability in the territory.
Our correspondent learned that following the petition, Commandant Isaac David has been invited to appear at the command headquarters in Abuja, by 10: am on Friday.
Reacting, Commandant Isaac David, who is also the executive director of the Abuja Original Inhabitants Youth Empowerment Organization (AIOIYEO) described the petition as laughable.
He said, though, he is yet to receive any invitation from the police command, even as he said the FCT Youth Network is a platform created by the Abuja Original Inhabitants Youth Empowerment Organization (AOIYEO) where FCT youth activities will be coordinated and also serve as a voice between indigenous youth of the FCT and the government.
It would be recalled that, the FCT Youth Network an umbrella body of AOIYEO was launched recently in Abuja, which has received the blessings and support of the FCT minister of state, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, and the Ona of Abaji/chairman of the FCT council of traditional rulers, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa.
The youth network has fixed Saturday, July 30, 2022, to conduct elections for aspirants vying for youth leaders and their deputies.
