Always put me in your prayers – lawmaker urges FCT village chiefs

A house of representatives member for Abuja south federal constituency, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya has called on village chiefs across the territory to always put him in prayers to enable him overcome the challenges ahead of him.
Our correspondent report that Ajiya, who was elected on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, in February 25, 2023 general election, for Abuja south, comprised of Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada and Kuje area councils of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
Speaking when he received village chiefs of Abaji area council who paid him sallah homage at his his private residence in Abaji, non Friday, noted that the task ahead of him are enormous, hence, there was need for the chiefs to always put him in prayers to enable him tackle such challenges headlong.
He described the chief’s as fathers who have always look up to their children to succeed in life, even as he recalled how he visited all the village chiefs at their various palaces to seek for their blessings ahead of the election.
“And today, I can say God has answered your prayers for me when I came to seek for your blessings at your various palaces, which I want to still appeal to you all to always put me in prayers so that we can be able to tackle the challenges ahead of us together,” he said.
Speaking earlier on behalf of the chiefs, the Etsu of Rimba, HRH Alhaji Mohammed jiya, told the lawmaker that they decided to come and paid him a sallah homage and to also appreciate him for good things he had done to the good people of Abaji area council when he was chairman of the council.
“And it is obvious that there is big task ahead of you being the only elected house of representatives in Abuja, from APC, which we on our own will continue to pray for you so that you overcome the challenges ahead,” he said.
He also advised the lawmaker to ensure he tour round the six area councils to meet with stakeholders and community leaders in order to sit with them and deliberate on issues that affects people of the FCT.
“And it’s also our prayers that after the house of representatives, you will move higher to become senator as God spare our lives, ” he added.
