A pro-democracy organization in fold of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Progressive Youths for Good Governance Development, has given a pass mark to Southeast Representative at the National Pension Commission (PENCOM), Dr Nyerere Chinenye Anyim, for the effective representation and uncommon strides at the commission in the last two years

The group which noted the immense contributions by the southeast representative in the development of critical infrastructure in the region cannot be overemphasized, adding that Anyim has demonstrated sterling leadership capacity in consolidating the positive effort of present administration of APC in the country in reforming the nation’s pension schemes.

The group also condemned in strong term the recent purported and malicious suspension slammed on prominent party chieftain and described as illegal and unjustifiable, the unsubstantiated claims of anti party activities allegedly trumped-up by the Abia factional leadership of the party chaired by Mr Kingsley Ononogbu.

While further exnoerating Anyim on the accusation of sabotage on the party’s during the recently-conducted 2023 general elections in Abia, the group blamed the state gubernatorial flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Ikechi Emenike, on the party’s poor performances at the concluded state elections.

The organization regretted that emenike excluded major party stakeholders and ran electioneering campaigns as family and personal affairs, even as the huge funds appropriated and disbursed by the APC national leadership to all federating states in the country for payment of party agents that manned various polling units which were entrusted to Abia governorship candidate could not be accounted for.

The group called on the outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari, the new Nigeria President-elect, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, and the party national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, to hold emenike responsible on APC abysmal failure during the concluded presidential and state governorship elections conducted in Abia state by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Words: “We call on these great leaders of our party to summon ikechi emenike, Kingsley Ononogbu, and the rest, to give insight details on the expenditures and account the election funds. No dime was disbursed or given to any party agents who manned various polling units during the concluded 2023 general elections held across Abia state. And these and other factors contributed to APC loss.

“Emenike excluded major stakeholders who are mainly foundation members of the party in Abia state. And we must remind anti democratic forces within Abia APC that Dr Nyerere Anyim pioneered and nurtured APC, that saw party members unanimously choosed him as their gubernatorial candidate during the concluded 2015 elections conducted in Abia state.

“Apart from that, Emenike’s excesses drove out hundred members out from the party. But leaders like Nyerere Anyim, and rest of eminent party leaders had remained in APC despite its festering internal crisis caused by Mr Ikechi Emenike, and cohorts since 2015. Even the new Abia Governor-elect, Alex Otti, Hon Acho Obioma, and others were APC members, but left the party because of ikechi Emenike’s evil misdeeds in sabotaging every efforts by the Abia APC to win election and form a government in Abia state.

While reaffirming its implicit confidence in southeadt representative at National Pension Commission, the group called on the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress to disregard the shenanigans by a group of members operating a parallel structure of the APC in Abia state, and further informed the party leadership that the factional members has done devastating damages on Abia chapter of APC than good since its ascendency in current Nigeria’s democratic settings.

The pro-democracy organization, therefore, encouraged Anyim not to be deterred or distracted by evil machinations of the maverick Abia party chieftain, Mr ikechi emenike, and political hirelings, whom it described as serial election losers, and the clogs in the wheel of progress of APC in Abia state.

According to the group, “Anyim must remain focus and resolute in his quality representation and sterling strides in National Pension Commission. He has proved to be a true igbo leader, a patriot and lover of democracy.
