Asiwaju, Barr. Tanko, Ohimege, Commissioners, Others Grace Qur’anic Competition Grand Finale In Koton-Karfe.

Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Alhaji Asiru Asiwaju Mukadam, Chairman Kogi State Civil Service Commission, Hon Alhaji Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, Commissioner for Solid Mineral and Natural Resources, Hon. Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu, Rural Development, Youths and Sport and the Ohimege of Koton-Karfe, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Sani-Isah Koto, others include former Commissioner, Education Secretary DLG, Treasurer from Lokoja, Kogi LGAs and various graded chiefs top the list of dignitaries who grace  the grand finale of the Qur’anic recitation competition which ended up in Koton-Karfe, the headquarter of Kogi Local Government Area on Sunday.

This year annual Qur’anic competition hold at the Ohimege of Koton-Karfe palace.

Those that emerge victorious in various categories of the competition presented with prizes and will later represent the state at the national Qur’anic  recitation completion coming up soon.

The Commissioner of finance, Hon. Alhaji Asiru Asiwaju Mukadam who served as Chairman of the occasion thanked the paramount ruler for making this historic event to be a successful one, he also commended the organizers for their efforts towards inculcating moral values into the students.

“Looking at the event today we have a responsibility ahead not in Kogi LG but Nigeria as a whole”.

He said there is need for Muslims to acquired both Islamic and formal education, added that having the two will guide them to face any challenges.

“The Islamic Leaders should continue to call on us as leaders to their responsibility”.

He described Former Administrator of Kogi LG, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku as a giant killer whose efforts brought some peop development to the council.

He also commended the council Treasurer, Alhaji Yusuf Ohikwura Abdullahi for his pragmatic leadership quality, urging him to sustain the tempo.

The finance commissioner made a donation of a brand new motor circle and pledge 1 million naira.

On his part, the Ohimege of Koton-Karfe, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Sani-Isah koto thanked the special guests for not only honouring their invitation but rather contributed immensely to the success of event.

It said all the finalists who had scale preliminaries huddle are in high spirit while all necessary arrangements made to ensure a hitch- free final ceremony

It expressed optimism that Kogi LG contingents will shine at the national competition and will bring home laurels.

Mallam Muahammed Rabiu Suleiman emerged winner in the first category and presented with a motor circle. Second category has Mallam Abubakar Tauheed presented with a plasma TV and while third category is Mallam Abudarda Yunus presented with a standing fan. Others are 4th and 5th categories all went home with gifts.
