Asuku, Bello’s Chief of Staff empowers Youths across Kogi state.

Concerned over the growing unemployment ravaging the battalions of Nigerian youths, Chief of Staff to Kogi state Governor, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku, set up a charity organisation, “Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuka Youth Empowerment Forum” (PAAYEF).

The forum has been empowering the less privileged in scholarships health and skills acquisition across the length and breadth of the state.

To showcase its activities, PAAYEF, held a graduation ceremony for the beneficiaries of the foundation’s fashion institute on Tuesday in Lokoja.

Honourable Asuku and his foundation doled out N100,000 (Hundred Thousands naira) to each of the beneficiaries and a modern sewing machine after the training.

Last year the young Pharmacist held a school quiz competition, a program that empowered the students that excelled in the state’s three Senatorial zones.

This is in addition to his extensive charitable work, which includes the payment of medical bills and the provision of scholarships for youngsters across different tribes and religions.

Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who presided over the occasion, expressed his profound gratitude to his Chief of Staff for making him proud, noting that the pharmacist is upholding the good works of the government and the governor’s legacies.

The governor announced a sum of N500,000 (Five Hundred Thousands Naira) for each beneficiary to enable them to return to their local government areas and replicate the empowerment.

Pharm. Asuku, earlier, said that, following governor Yahaya Bello’s New Direction drive, he was inspired to start free entrepreneurship training for youths across the state.

The gesture of the philanthropist Will reduce unemployment drastically and improve people’s standard of living.

The recipients are also expected to expand their businesses in their various local governments, fend for their families, and employ more people around them.

Top government officials, including the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mrs Ayoade Folashade Arike, and others attended the event held at the Glass House, Government House.
