Hon. Yakubu Aboh tasked the Committee to do everything necessary that will restore peace, tranquillity and peaceful coexistence among the people of Bagana town and its environs.

It is on record that Bagana town has been engulfed with serries of violent crisis that had claimed several lives and properties worth billions of naira.

An investigation conducted by our correspondent in Kogi State revealed that the crisis that emanated from ownership of Bagana the bubbling commercial town on the Bank of River Benue, culminated into a battleground for the Fulani and Agatu from Benue state.

The Fulanis who fled from Benue state during their fierce war with the Agatus sought refuge with the Hausa community at Bagana and incidentally, some displaced Agatus also found Bagana a place where they could have peace.

The two sides now rekindled their hostilities in Bagana turning the area into a battlefield with the support of the original resident antagonists thereby fueling the struggle for the control of the town.

The committee has Col. Suleiman Babanawa (Rtrd) as Chairman, while AIG Abdulsalam Iyaji (Retrd), Chief Steve Shuaibu, Mr Simon Oyigu and Col. Paul Baba are members.

Other members include Adamu Ibrahim, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Omala division, Head DSS in Omala, Chief PE Achor, Barr. Emmanuel Maji, while Mr Jeseph Jibrin will serve as the secretary to the committee.
