The senate minority leader, Senator Philip Aduda representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has sympathized with the local vigilantes that were injured during an ambush by bandits at a reserves forest at Lafiya-Kpada-Duma communities in Lapai local government area of Niger state.
Aduda, through a delegation led by the honorable FCT commissioner for Public Complaints Commission (PCC) Ezikel Musa Dalhattu, to sympathize with the victims at Abaji general hospital on Tuesday.
He said he was saddened over the attack on members of the vigilantes who have always risk their lives to join hands with security agents to tackle cases of kidnapping and banditry across the FCT.
He also sympathized with the family and relatives of the victims, while assuring to foot the medical bills of the victims.
Aduda, while urging residents of the FCT to continue to be security conscious, called on community leaders to be wary of strange people that come into their domain and report immediately to security agents.
The minority leader further called on the security agencies to rise up to their responsibilities in fighting insecurity that is bedeviling the people of FCT.
Our correspondent had reported that bandits had last Wednesday, went on rampage, abducting 22 farmers including two women while cultivating their farms at Rafin-Daji community in Gurdi ward of Abaji area council..
