Breaking: Gunmen Kidnap Information Commissioner In Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information, Mohammed Yakubu Lawal, has been kidnapped by gunmen at his residence in the GRA Nasarawa Eggon Area of the State.

 

A family source confirmed the incident, noting that the gunmen who whisked him away were heavily armed.

Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information, Mohammed Yakubu Lawal, has been kidnapped by gunmen at his residence in the GRA Nasarawa Eggon Area of the State.

The Commissioner, alongside his son identified as Mushab Yakubu Lawal, were abducted at about 9 pm on Monday evening, August 15th, after some gunmen stormed his residence, the Vanguard reports.

However, it was gathered that that the gunmen released the Commissioner’s son few minutes after he had been dragged away with his father but the whereabout of the Commissioner could not be ascertained.

As at the time of filing this report, the State Police Command is yet to confirm the incident.

Efforts to reach the Police proved abortive at press time.
