CBN constructs multimillion Naira intervention projects in Govt. College Keffi
Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has constructed some new projects and renovated some in Government College Keffi, Nasarawa State.
The multimillion naira education intervention projects of CBN in Government College, Keffi were today Tuesday officially handed over to Government of Nasarawa State.
This, the bank said, was parts of its responsibilities in improving on the standard of education in the country.
Arch. Amina Omi, the Respresentative of CBN while handing over the intervention projects to Nasarawa Government today in Government College Keffi urged the school management to ensure judicious use of the projects.
According to the CBN, “Today, we are handing over 5 block 18 class rooms, one hostel with 150 capacity, new hostel with 250 capacity, new multi purpose hall with 500 capacity and
Clinic constructed by CBN to the Government of Nasarawa State.
” It is CBN contribution to the development of the nation’s education as the importance of education could not be overemphasized,” she said.
She said that the clinic was constructed to improve on the heath status of the students among other people.
Responding after receiving the projects on behalf of the state government, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Bala appreciated the CBN for the intervention projects.
” I want to thank the CBN for complementing state government effort towards improving the standard of education in the state,” he said
He also appreciated members of Keffi Old Boys Association ( KOBA) for contributing positively to the development of the institution.
The permanent secretary told the gathering that Gov. Abdullahi Sule has prioritized the education sector in the state.
” This is evident in his Excellency development strides in the education among other sectors of the economy in the state,” he said.
It would be reported that CBN has in recent times carried out series of intervention projects at the renown boys college that is hosting exchange students across the country and has produced prominent Nigerians including a former president late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
Some of the projects embarked upon by the apex bank facilitated by a Deputy Governor of the CBN, who is an old boy of the college included renovation and equipping with modern facilities the school patient hall, hostels, classes among others.
