CCT: FCT Minister Of State Fixes August For Commencement Of Payment.

Minister of State, FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijani Aliyu, has formally announced the commencement of payment to Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) beneficiaries including the backlog as approved by National Cash Transfer office (NCTO).

Speaking through the FCT Social Investment Programme, Focal Person and Special Adviser, Mrs. Chinwendu Eteyen Amba on Thursday, the Minister stated that the Payment exercise would commence on the 23rd of August, this year.

According to Dr. Ramatu, all necessary arrangements including security and logistics guiding the exercise have been concluded preparatory to the commencement of the exercise.

While she explained that the beneficiaries would be receiving their backlog payments, however advised them to be part of savings groups so as to effectively utilise their stipends.

The Minister equally added that the payment would be batched in order not to overwhelm the beneficiaries and control the cash flow in each ward in the FCT.

According to her, there will be beneficiaries pre-disbursement sensitization and PSPs would be collecting beneficiaries’ BVN where applicable, in line with the current digitization process.

While wishing beneficiaries a fruitful payment exercise, the Honourable Minister of State FCT, tendered her unreserved apology to them over the delay of the 13th payment cycle, assuring them of her unflinching support and commitment to the over all objectives of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme.
