An award of excellence has been presented to the Chief Executive Officer, Wisdom Gate Global Resources Limited, Chief Tony Ologun of Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Presenting the award to him in his office in Lokoja, the President of the National Association of Northern Nigerian Students (NANNS), Comrade Abdulrahman Ibrahim from Bayero University Kano said the award was in recognition of the efforts of the awardee towards societal development.

Comrade Ibrahim said the association haven painstakingly looked into the profile and contributions of the recipient of the award towards growth and development of the society prompted the association to recognized and reinforce his passion for good.

He explained that the delegates consists of students from across the 19 northern states of the Federation whose mission is centered on promoting peace, unity as well as enlightening the students on issues affecting the area.

According to him, the association has continued to play advocacy roles in the area of unemployment, cultism, substance abuse, gender balance, social misconduct, illiteracy which has hampered the growth and development of the nation.

He applauded the efforts of Chief Tony Ologun towards the idea of nation building, educational development, self discipline and human development and urged him to redoubled his efforts towards making a difference in the society.

Responding, the awardee, Chief Tony Ologun who was visibly elated said he was surprised initially at the proposal for the presentation in view of the security challenges in the country and expressed appreciation to the association for the recognition.

He condemned the poor condition of youths in the country, noting that the youths have been hurled to perpetual slavery and manipulated as an agent of destruction by politicians.

Chief Ologun appealed to them to always stand for their right and expressed hope that the situation can turn around for the best in nearest future.

In his vote of thanks, a member of the National Association of the Estate Agents in Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter, Mr Timothy Aiyedero described the awardee as a man of vision whose contributions to the society would remain indelible.

He described Chief Ologun as a man that is shy with publicity and commended the organization for carrying out a thorough investigation into his personality.

Mr Aiyedero commended the student’s body for coming up with an encouraging idea and prayed for success in future undertaking.

Present at the occasion were the Public Relation Officer of the student’s body, Mr Usman Ibrahim of Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, the Director of Gender, Issah Hussaina of the University of Abuja, the Director of Program, Mohammed Saeed of Kaduna State Polytechnic, Pastor Odus Emmanuel of Living Faith as well as Mr Yusuf Amuda of Living Faith.
