Rating the just concluded cultural and fishing festival, the Dan Isan of Koton/Karfe, Hon. Chief Alhaji Abdulhameed Suleiman Danjuma Gegu has described the just concluded 4th Edition of Igu Koton/Karfe Cultural/Fishing Festival as the best so far since the official commencement of the Festival in the Area.

The Ongyehu Ogbane of Gegu who stated this in an interview with Newsmen expressed delight over the large turnout of the dignitaries who came from both far and near to witness the occasion, saying that the festival will go a long way at uniting the people of the Area.

Hon. Danjuma Gegu who is the Marafah of Igbogo Kingdom said Kogi Local Government Area is blessed with rich cultural heritage, stressing that the people of the Area are always proud of their culture wherever they found themselves.

“If you watch the Igu Koton/Karfe Cultural/Fishing Festival, you will notice that there is progress every year, in fact, I can say that this 4th Edition of the Festival is the Best so far

“People from different Communities, towns and villages within and outside Kogi State has come to witness this festival, that is a sign to show that culture plays a vital role at uniting the people and Igu Fishing is simply playing that role of Unity and it is my earnest prayer that this very fishing festival will be sustained” he said.

While speaking to the youths, the Kwarbai of Abaji Kingdom – FCT Abuja and a philanthropist per excellent, enjoined them to stay determined, focused, hardworking and shun the “Get Rich Quick” syndrome, adding that Allah will provide for all His creatures at the appointed time.
