CMPG Chairman, Oghenesivbe nominated for Media Awards in Abuja, Edo

…Says subfield of strategic communication inevitable in governance.

Media Strategist and Executive Assistant on Communications to Delta State Governor, Olorogun Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has been nominated for two prestigious Awards by the Editorial Boards of Reliance Newspapers in Edo State, and Top flyers International Magazine based in Abuja.

In separate nomination letters, the two media organisations said their choice of Dr Oghenesivbe was carefully made judging from his enviable track records, professional integrity and leadership roles in the spheres of media politics and strategic communication, spanning over two decades and counting.

Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Reliance Newspapers, Sir Ralph Okhiria, in a letter dated April 26, 2023; said Barrister Oghenesivbe, is to receive the prestigious “Leadership Award in Political Communication Strategy and Media Management,” in recognition of his inestimable professional leadership roles in the industry, which substantially contributed to good governance, growth and advancement of constitutional democracy in Nigeria.

The Newspaper editorial board noted that Oghenesivbe’s numerous intellectual property widely in print and circulated in traditional and social media platforms carries enormous weights, revealing, well researched and result oriented; and well crafted based on unique constructs, as can be seen from his numerous creative writings firmly rooted in equity and justice, promotion of good governance, and effective management of electioneering media campaigns.

In the same vein, the editorial board of Topflyer International Magazine in a letter dated May 12, 2023 and signed by its Project Manager, Mr Collins Peters, noted that Oghenesivbe’s proactive approach in crisis communication management and electioneering media politics has greatly advanced the subfield of Strategic Political Communication, which deals with political gladiators, their public image, good governance and promotion of constitutional democracy and the rule.

Topflyers magazine, a quarterly international publication with head office in Abuja, recognizes Oghenesivbe’s professional skills and achievements in the media industry spanning over three decades, and subsequently nominated him for the “Best Performing Media Personality Award in Political Communication and Media Politics Management.”

The event is scheduled to hold at Abuja Continental Hotel (formerly Abuja Sheraton Hotel), on August 26, 2023. It’s expected to attract shakers and movers of society, captains of industry, media personalities, political leaders and some State Governors.

Reacting to the two special nominations, the nominee, Olorogun Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, who is also the Chairman of Coalition for Media Politics and Governance, CMPG, said to whom much is given, much is expected.

He thanked the management and editorial board of Reliance Newspapers and that of Topflyer International Magazine, while pledging to do more in advancing the inevitable and critical roles of media politics and strategic Communication in governance, leadership and growth of constitutional democracy in Nigeria.

“As one of the core pioneers in Political Communication Strategy and Media Politics in this part of the world, it behooves on me and new entrants to take the subfield to an enviable and lucrative height,” Oghenesivbe assured.
