Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharm Abdulkareem Mohammad Jamiu Asuku, has advised leaders not to create fears in the minds of their followers as such acts could have grievous consequences on the followers.
Pharmacy Jamiu gave the advice during a covid-19 sensitization program for stakeholders drawn from all the local government areas held at the Government House in Lokoja.
He pointed out that the harsh measures being visited on the people due to the pandemic has created more harm than the effects of the pandemic itself.
The Chief of Staff explained that everyone is aware of the stand of Governor Yahaya Bello on the pandemic, quoting the Governor’s statement , when he said, “I make sure that I first educate myself about Covid-19, so that I can lead my people in the right direction”.
He said that the whole world has been ravaged by the pandemic, with a devastating effect on the economy as well as lives and properties.
According to the Chief of Staff, governments at all levels have adopted strategies which they believed could effectively combat the spread of the dreaded scourge
He explained that the governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, in his determination to enlighten the people of the state on the Covid 19, stakeholders have been mobolised and equiped with necessary information to be deciminated to the public.
Actions to be exercised to curb the rapid spread to the communities, include social distancing avoiding crowd, regular washing of hands and wearing of face mask.
The Governor has also invited renowned Academia to the state to educate stakeholders and get them more aquinted with the subject and things to do to remain safe.
