CP Hakeem Yusuf Assumes duty as new Kogi Police Commissioner.

The new Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Adeshina Yusuf, has assumed duty, declaring determination to strengthen community engagement and effective synergy in ensuring adequate security in the State
A press release signed by the Kogi state Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, the new Commissioner succeeds CP Edward Egbuka who has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and deployed to zone 14 Katsina.
The PPRO stated that CP Hakeem A. Yusuf hails from Lagos State and holds B.Sc (Hons) degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State in the year 1987.
He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in the year 1990 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and was trained at the Police Academy Annex Kaduna.
He said the Officer has in the span of over three decades attended courses locally and overseas including, Cadet ASP course POLAC Annex, Kaduna,
Junior Command course 37JCC, Staff College, Jos, Intermediate Command course 55 ICC, Police Staff College, Jos.
He also attended Exercise Haske Buy AFCSC Jaji 2008, UNAMID Pre-Deployment Course KIPKC Accra, Ghana 2009 and in Canada for deployment course in2008
vi. UNAMID Deployment course PPKC Canada 2008 and several others.
According to the SP Aya, the new Commissioner also served as Traffic, Crime Officer including Divisional Police Officer in various locations in Imo, Ogun, Lagos and FCT Abuja commands respectively.
According to the statement, between 2009 to 2010, he served as Deputy Chief of Police Operations UNAMID El Fasher sector Dafur, Sudan
iii. Between 2013 to 2017 Assistant Commissioner of Police Administration Railway Command Eb- Lagos, Assistant Commissioner of Police Criminal Investigation Department Kwara State Command, and Area Commander Biu Borno Command.
CP Hakeem Adeshina Yusuf is also a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (MNIM) as well as Fellow of the National Defence College of Nigeria (fdc).
The new Commissioner of Police has the requisite expertise, integrity, courage and experience to oversee the affairs of the Kogi State Police Command and to consolidate on the numerous achievement of his predecessor.
