Delta 2023: CMPG urges Edevbie’s Group to Reply Oborevwori family on Francis.
Coalition for Media Politics and Governance, CMPG, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called out the former governorship aspirant of PDP in Delta State, Olorogun David Edevbie, his legal team and members of Delta Unity Group, to respond to Oborevwori family of Osubi, on the issue of a yet to be identified ghost referred to as Oborevwori Francis, which they linked to a certain WAEC Certificate.
Chairman of CMPG, Olorogun Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, made the call on Sunday 28th August while speaking to newsmen in Lagos, where he attended the 62nd Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, with the Theme; “Bold Transitions.”
It will be recalled that Edevbie and his team alleged on Oath that a certain yet to be identified Francis Oborevwori was the owner of the WAEC Certificate presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, by the governorship candidate of Delta PDP, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor, a claim that Pa Thompson Oborevwori, the family head of Oborevwori ancient lineage of Osubi in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, promptly debunked via a national press conference and series of interviews.
Oborevwori family clearly stated that the Honourable Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and PDP governorship candidate, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor, is the only son of the family who is known and addressed as Oborevwori Francis, and no other, either living or dead; and in the same token urged Olorogun David Edevbie and his legal team to immediately parade and identify their own Francis Oborevwori or apologise to the family and Mr Speaker.
Oghenesivbe, who is also the Leader of Sheriffied Delta Media Group, told newsmen in Lagos that the deep cold silence by the Respondent’s spokespersons, as well as the blunt refusal by Olorogun David Edevbie to debunk or accept Oborevwori family position on the matter, has clearly vindicated Appellant Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor who is the genuine and authentic owner of the WAEC Certificate presented to INEC, as rightly affirmed via a certified true copy duly signed by a senior official of the West African Examination Council.
He noted that the purported face imagery forensic report conducted by a limited liability company contracted and allegedly induced by Olorogun David Edevbie and his desperate group of Oligarchs, goes to no issue, pointing out that cases resolved by the Supreme Court on Certificate forgery where based on confirmation reports or clarifications by the Certificates issuing authorities, not based on face imagery forensic analysis.
Oghenesivbe, a lawyer and a Distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management, Dfcism, further posited that failure by Edevbie and his team to debunk or accept Oborevwori family statement, and/or take further steps to produce their own Oborevwori Francis in Court amounts to perjury and misleading the Court, which is actionable.

He further added that Edevbie may be sued for character assassination and general damages in the near future, considering the weight of false allegations deliberately calculated to destroy Oborevwori’s political career and national public image.
According to Oghenesivbe, this is a clear case of acute jealousy and deliberate character assassination on the enviable personality of Delta PDP governorship candidate and Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor, JP, the Ukodo of Okpe Kingdom and National Deputy Chairman, Conference of Speakers in Nigeria
“We have gradually come to the end of falsehood and character assassination plan, exhibited and executed by the former Delta PDP governorship aspirant, Olorogun David Edevbie and his co-conspirators vide Delta Unity Group against Delta PDP governorship candidate, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor.
“What we are waiting for right now is for Edevbie and his group to respond to Oborevwori family statement wherein the family head and members of Osubi Community clearly stated that apart from their noble son, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor, there is no other Oborevwori Francis any where in the world, either living or dead, as criminally alleged by Olorogun David Edevbie and his legal team.
“Gentlemen of the Press, you all know that in criminal cases, allegations are to be proved beyond reasonable doubt by the Plaintiff, Applicant or Prosecution. It is never the business of the accused person to prove the allegations beyond reasonable doubt.
“And in the instant case, Edevbie and his legal team have failed woefully to prove their case and/or allegations beyond reasonable doubt, as can be seen from the clean reports by the police, DSS and other security agencies which exonerated the Appellant of any criminal conduct, and/or wrong doings.
“The Appellate Court ordered investigation into the matter and all the reports clearly vindicated Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor, wherein it was confirmed that he attended Primary School, Secondary School, graduated from Ambrose Ali University with second class upper division in Political Science and that he duly and legitimately holds a Masters Degree in Political Science, under the official Seal of Delta State University Abraka, et al.
“Furthermore, WAEC senior official acting on the instructions of the Council affirmed that the WAEC Certificate was neither forged nor faked as alleged by Edevbie and his legal team, it was issued to Appellant and governorship candidate of Delta PDP.
“Without prejudice, the date of birth on the certificate which Edevbie is ignorantly celebrating was resolved as required by Law through legitimate legal processes, and that in itself cannot invalidate the genuine certificate issued by WAEC, neither will it invalidate the candidacy of Oborevwori sheriff Francis Orohwedor of Delta PDP.
“All available evidence and security reports points to show that Oborevwori Francis and Oborevwori Sheriff Orohwedor is one and the same person which has been streamlined by valid Court Affidavits, newspaper publication and Deed Poll, respectively, as required by subsisting Laws.
“It is crystal clear that Edevbie and his group has failed woefully to prove their criminal allegations against Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor, beyond reasonable doubt as required in criminal jurisdiction.
“We are hopeful that Oborevwori’s Appeal shall succeed,” Oghenesivbe said.
