Gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor, today 7th November, flagged off his Ward to Ward campaign tour of 270 Ward in twenty five local government areas.

Speaking at the flag off ceremony in Udu Local Government Area, Oborevwori said the Ward campaigns being the first of it’s kind in the state, is to explain his M.O.R.E agenda to eligible voters at the grassroots, saying that the Units campaign will immediately commence after the Ward exercise.

He commended the incumbent governor of the state and Vice Presidential Candidate of PDP, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, describing him as a pace setter who came on board with a clear vision, and worked very hard to fulfil his electioneering campaign promises to the good people of Delta State.
Oborevwori said he remained eminently qualified to step into the big shoes of Governor Okowa, adding that he has the required experience, political popularity and competence, sound education, good health and political willpower to further develop the state, by emulating the enviable good governance strides of the incumbent governor Okowa.
Oborevwori, who is also the Deputy National Chairman of Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, disclosed that he worked closely with governor Okowa in the past seven years and counting, and therefore understands the dynamics of politics and good governance, coupled with his experience as Speaker of the State House of Assembly in almost six years, the longest serving speaker since the creation of Delta State.
“It’s time to reach out to our people at the grassroots and the Ward to Ward Campaign is the best strategy. I will campaign in the entire 270 Ward and explain the M.O.R.E agenda to our people.
“M.O.R.E is all about; Meaningful development, Opportunity for all Deltans, Realistic reforms and Enhanced peace, security and social harmony, across the state.
“The components of my manifesto addresses all aspects of the state economy, while retaining and advancing some of the unique policies and programmes of this administration; Rysa, Step, Yagep, Gest Project for the girl child, monthly stipends for widows, et al
“I am an excessive local content politician, and I know your pains, I feel your pains because I am one of you. I was born here in Delta, lived here all my life with my entire family.
“Trust me by voting Sheriff-Onyeme and we shall listen more, do more and achieve more for all Deltans, irrespective of political affiliation. A Deltan is a Deltan, and we are all brothers and sisters. My government shall be all inclusive, open door policy premised on transparency and accountability.
“Our governor and PDP Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, is a consummate leader, talk-nah-do governor and his scorecard is excellent, the selling point of our campaign.
“Okowa is my father and mentor. A good son must do better than his father. I will not disappoint you, I will do more to advance Delta State and citizens.
“The voting pattern is very simple; Vote Atiku-Okowa, Sheriff-Onyeme and all PDP candidates across board, five over five,” Oborevwori said.
State Party Chairman of PDP in Delta State, Barrister Kingsley Esiso, said Atiku-Okowa and Sheriff-Onyeme tickets are significant at this time, because of the urgent need to take over and reset Nigeria, and in the same token PDP government must sustain the monumental socioeconomic and infrastructure development that is ongoing in Delta State.
“To a large extent, our feature is at stake as can be seen from the the failed APC national government. Therefore, the forthcoming 2023 general elections in Nigeria is critical.
“At the national level, our country is in ruins. Nigeria’s economy is nothing to write home about, coupled with acute insecurity problems like never before in the history of our country. The Nsirs is worthless and inflation is wrecking the take home pay of Nigerian workers.
“We are stagnant as a nation and it is only our party’s presidential candidate and his running mate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, that posses the needed experience, competence and capacity to take us from this unfortunate predicament that we found ourselves as a result of bad governance by the All Progressives Congress, APC, firmly under President Mohmmadu Buhari and Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
“Here in Delta State, we must vote Sheriff-Onyeme in 2023, so as to sustain and improve on the massive development achieved so far and counting, by our leader and amiable governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa,” Esiso said.
Candidates of PDP in Delta Central Senatorial District were present at the flag off ceremony including; the Delta Central Senatorial Candidate, Chief Ighoyota Amori, JP, Chief Jite Brown, candidate of Udu State Constituency, senior government officials, elected Representatives, political appointees, party leaders and supporters.
