Easter: NLC, Health Workers Union urged Nigerians to imbibe lesson of sacrifice as exemplified

The Organized Labour Kogi State council has urged Nigerians to Imbibe the lessons of sacrifice, love, and peace, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ represent.

In separate Easter message, the State Chapter of the Nigerian labour Congress [NLC] and Health workers union of Nigeria [HWUN] noted that it was only when Nigerian embrace these virtues and pursue them at all times that the society can surmount her numerous challenges.

Kogi State chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress,who is also kogi State chairman of the Health workers union of Nigeria, Comrade Amari Gabriel expressed regret that the present mess the society is facing was because it has allowed trivial issues like ethnicity and religion to take control and destroyed critical development goals.

According to the state leader of the labour movement while countries like China, Malaysia,Singapore, and United States of America with densely population were making developmental process while Nigeria leaders cannot managed a population of two hundred million people.

“This is a moment of sober reflection and it is not a mere coincidence that the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ is happening at a time our muslim brothers and sisters are also observing their fast .it suggests that God is interested in healing our land” Amari narrated.

Comrade Amari Gabriel reiterated that this is not yet the country of our dream, noting that impunity, selfishness, cronyism, religious intolerance and nepotism have created serious division in our land.

“It has never been this bad but we all have a role to play if we must overcome these challenges at hands”.

He said when we reflect on Easter it should remind us that as a people that we need to be truthful, upright,honest, and fear God

“We must understand that our purpose in life here is to live in obedience to our Creator’s will and love one another.Easter offer us the opportunity to rethink the very essence of our humanity.”

We call on government to address the worsening state of security, poverty, unemployment, senseless waste of human lives currently going on to allow the needed transformation of our mother land”. Amari noted.

Comrade Amari Gabriel use this occasion of Easter celebration to felicitates with the state executive governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello,his cabinet team and the state workers saying that the future is bright if only we can exist peacefully among ourselves.
