A delegation of the Yobe State chapter of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project for Nigeria has arrived Kogi state on a mission to understudy successes recorded by the state.
The ACReSAL team visit from Yobe State, was on the instruction of the World Bank, to understudy the performance of the agency, ACReSAL, formally known as NEWMAP.
The achievements recorded by the agency was due to the concern shown by the state government under the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello to the affected local government areas.
Government officials disclosed that the Governor expressed concern and directed the relevant ministries and agencies to ensure that the World Bank assisted project was carried out according to specification without any delay
The team from Yobe arrived the State on Tuesday prepared to study the Kogi modalities that has led to numerous achievements by the Kogi State ACReSAL.
According to officials from the Kogi Ministry of Finance, the former NEWMAP was able to record outstanding achievements that caught the attention of the World Bank.
The World Bank is said to have rated the Kogi state ACReSAL high in project execution, an effort believed to have been bolstered by Gov. Yahaya Bello .
Both ACReSAL teams from Kogi and Yobe States will visit project sites on Wednesday for inspection of projects executed under the leadership of Gov Yahaya Bello.
Earlier the Kogi State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye, who received the visiting Officials from Yobe State, described the feat achieved by the Kogi State ACReSAL as a product of dogged determination of Gov. Yahaya Bello.
The Commissioner assured that the visit will be rewarding, promising that the Kogi State ACReSAL is resolved to doing more in the coming years.
Speaking on the development, the Kogi State Project Coordinator, ACReSAL, Barr. Ladi Jatto, described the visit by the Yobe Team as commendable.
She said the visit will be used by the Yobe Team to learn and for peer review mechanism by the two states.
