It is mostly believed that woman is shut in a kitchen to cook only, so she knows or she is limited to what the kitchen can afford. That means her wings to achieve anything in life are cut. And then when she becomes a liability later to the husband, they blame her for not being able to fly by those who had clipped her wings.

Mrs. Christabel Eremah Ekwu is saying no, emancipate the women in Akoko-Edo, let them be able to see beyond the kitchen, let their horizon not be limited, let them have the same opportunities as the men, and let them be able to fly as high in their careers as they want.

The immense contribution of women in our families, homes, business/work environment, and politics cannot be overemphasized. Women’s passion to add value to everything they are involved in is being considered their duty instead of being appreciated.

What Mrs. Christabel Eremah Ekwu wishes to do when voted in is to see to the emancipation of women in Akoko-Edo, both economically and politically. Their voices and presence will be heard and felt.
