Edo Central PDP Senatorial Executive, Stakeholders Distanced Self from PDP Rallies.

The crisis rocking the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State has taken another dimension as critical stakeholders and executive boycotting all it’s activities.

In a press statement issued out and jointly endorsed by the Senatorial Leadership on behalf of the members of the party, the People’s Democratic Party Senatorial Secretary who also doubled as the State Assistant Secretary, Barr. L. Ogedegbe noted that “Edo Central Senatorial Executive and all critical stakeholders of the party including legacy group has also boycotted all PDP senatorial rallies.”

The Senatorial Secretary said that the party stakeholders in the Senatorial District have reviewed the activities of the party and said, the security situation in the senatorial District as well as how the district has been well treated despite the commitment of the Senatorial District in our party.

As it presently stand, the controversies about the State owned higher institutions especially Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and Edo State College of Education, Igueben and others are nothing to write home about. Staff of those institutions have been dehumanized, sacked and schools reduced to nothing. Major departments in AAU have been moved away from the University and the College of Education in Igueben has been moved to Edo South Senatorial District.

According to the Secretary who spoke on behalf of others also noted that the stakeholders questioned undermining of the Senatorial Leadership of the party saying, “we do not even know what is going on in our party. We have no input as to who becomes our candidates for the next election. As far as we are concern, we do not have candidates at the moment until further notice.”

He secretary said, “our senatorial believe in fairness and zoning formula as enshrined in our party constitution,which has been breached and sidelined, the Senatorial Executive Committee also reviewed issues of its candidates who were dully elected and monitored by INEC.”

Ogedegbe noted that, “you must have observed that none of us are with them in their kangaroo rallies and that is our position.” The Party Senatorial Secretary said
