For many, the truth of most matter remains hidden, not through lack of intellect on their parts but because they trust the lies, opinions and propaganda propagated in some media platforms.

Recently, I was answering a reporter who came to me asking if Hon Omoregie Ogbiede-Ihama has dropped his bid to run for the Senate seat in Edo South Senatorial District. I laughed very wiidly. He even went on to say instead, he is coming back to run for third term to the House of Representatives. I told him matter of flatly that there is no truth in such a peddled unfounded story. That the rumour can only come from the very bottom pit of hellfire as there is no iota of truth in that figment of imagination. Hon Ogbiede-Ihama’s Senatorial District is very lively with his ambition as he is busy going round for consultations and getting endorsement after endorsement from Party leaders, LGA excos and delegates in general. So such a rumour should be disregarded and thrashed completely.

As a matter of fact, Hon Ogbeide-Ihama’s ambition wasn’t actually his own persuasion or decision, he was very close to becoming the governor of Edo State, it was the decision of party leaders, including myself, when we had to approach him to consider the overall interest of the Party in 2020 for the stability of the Party during the build up to the last gubernatorial primaries where he had to step down. So going to the Senate was part of the gentleman’s agreement that was reached to talk to him. As a loyal party man, he accepted the offer and I am wondering why those who took part in the issue are now acting as if such agreements were never made. One aspect of life that I hold dearly is when I make promises, I learn to keep to them rather than to betray them at the point when I am called upon to redeem them. This is so because when you are known for betraying agreements, such negative attitude goes a long way in putting you against the masses. People will no longer have trust in you when it comes to agreements except such agreements are put on black and white.

In politics basically, campaign promises, are made without documentations but it behoves on the individuals to uphold the promises made to the electorates..

There won’t be need to mention names because people feel personally attacked when the promises they made in politics are recalled to memories for them to remember. They are wedded to their respective l broken promises rather than submit to such agreements reached. If you are such a character, please step aside because politics is not good for you.

Hon Omoregie Ogbiede-Ihama is 100% in the race and the leading aspirant for that matter. He is a vibrant young man that is not only dedicated and loyal to the party through thick and thin, he owes his political allegiance to the entire people of Edo South Senatorial District who are poised to send him to the red chambers to represent them come 2023. I am a firm believer in Party Reward System. When a party member does well, is dedicated, loyal and has sacrificed immensely for the Party, there must be a kind of political rewards system to encourage such people as to keep them in the party and show incoming generations within the party that there are fruits to be reaped in dedication and loyalty.

Legislative business as we all know it is a serious business that cannot be taken for granted because it has the ability to attract meaningful development into any constituency or district. And this is the main reason why Hon Ogbiede-Ihama having done well in the green chambers, his district are bent on sending him upward to the Senate. And this act and gesture is as a reward for competence, dedication and loyalty. No doubt, Hon Ogbiede-Ihama is a great mind with tested antecedent in PDP here in Edo State. He has intervened on personal and official level as member representing Oredo Federal Constituency. As he goes to the Senate, by the will of God and the certainty of the delegates and voters, Edo South Senatorial District will experience robust and quality representation that had never been witnessed before.
