What a man does in his house, how he keeps his house and how he dresses his bed to sleep on it speaks volume of the content of his character.
Anyone who knows me knows I am objective in my presentations without being bias. I put things in the perspective they are truly are so that on verification, I can easily be vindicated. I am not a politician nor am I a cash-for-writing-journalist, I am an ordinary member of the Peoples Democratic Party.
First, Senator Mathew Urhoghide seems not to understand what a senatorial district secretariat should look like. As a matter of fact, it should be next befitting after the Party’s State Secretariat. But this is not the case. Edo South Senatorial District Secretariat on visitation recently is crying for upgrade as there are no enough fans, chairs, generator set for the past 7 years under the leadership of Senator Mathew Urhoghide who is seeking for an impossible 3rd term. As a matter of fact, it was only a few weeks ago that one senatorial aspirant, in the same ranks of Senator Mathew Urhoghide who had gained all from PDP but does not appreciate the party, on his vacuous visitation to the secretariat, lamented the the dire need of these essential office materials that he made available some of the items basically for show, to the secretariat. He was however appreciated because the serving Senator, Mathew Urhoghide, has been there for over 7 years without deeming it fit to make those provisions. I have all the time been wandering how can the said Senator who is represented by highfalutin propaganda as one who provides infrastructure and award scholarships to unaccountable numbers of students not find it necessary to make the senatorial office befitting for meetings even when the party gave him ticket twice where he has gone to fill his personal coffers. Is it a matter of ingratitude? No wonder he calls the party ticket worthless Zimbabwean Dollar.
And let’s do a juxtaposition between the senatorial district secretariat and that of Oredo PDP Secretariat in Akpakpava. You will discover how best a very grateful representative treats his party. If care is not taken, you will mistake the Oredo PDP Secretariat for the Senatorial Districts Secretariat because Hon Omoregie Ogbiede-Ihama provides everything that is surely needed in the secretariat to make it comfortable for meetings.
A man cannot treat the office that gave him tica ket twice like a slum and be asking for a third term ticket from the district. It is how you dress your bed you lay on it.
In my own opinion, Senator Mathew Urhoghide has no business going for the third term he is seeking for. He has treated the party with so much disdain and scorn.
He has left the party in shambles, he took sides against the party when the party needs him most. The delegates should not reward his disloyalty, his lack of dedication, his lack of empathy, his political allegiance to the traducers, and his ridiculousness.
Precedence of internal discipline must be set. He should be made to learn from Hon Omoregie Ogbiede-Ihama.
