Education: Nasarawa State To Benefit From FG Education Project For Out Of School Women.

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State says the state has all its takes to benefit from a Universal Basic Education project of the Federal Government for out of school women.

Sule revealed this when he received in audience wives of legislators of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, under the auspices of legislators wives association, LEWA in Lafia today.

He said that the project would enable the out of school women to acquired knowledge and skills for self reliance and societal development.

Appreciating the visit of the wives of members of the state Assembly, the governor said as a government that is committed towards ensuring an inclusive society, the activities of the association is in line with the focus of meeting the needs of downtrodden members of the society.

“My administration  is committed to inclusive society to enable citizens contribute their quota to the development of the state,” he said.

Affirming that his administration enjoys cordial relationship with members of the state assembly, the governor urged the wives of the legislators to continue to play supportive roles to their husbands.

He used the medium to inform them on the inclusion of Nasarawa State among States that would benefit from the Universal Basic Education Project, captioned “Second Chance School Initiative” designed to cater for the education needs of out of school women.

Leading the delegation, wife of the speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hajiya Maryam Ibrahim Balarabe explained that they were at the Government house in solidarity with the governor’s commitment to the development of the state as well as the attention accorded the development of women and children.

She said the association is registered and is aimed at pursuing issues that affect the welbeing of women and children.

The wife of the speaker of the state assembly also commended the cordial  relationship between the executive and legislative arms of Government in the state and called for its sustenance.
