Kogi state deputy governor, His Excellency Chief Edward David Onoja bagged the prestigious Kogi Social Media Award, the award was in recognition of his immense contributions and his proper usage of the media sphere to impact positively on the lives of Kogi citizens.
Among the nominees for the award were, The former SDP candidate of the just concluded Kogi gubernatorial election, Barr. Natasha Akpoti, The senator representing Kogi west, Senator Smart Adeyemi of the All progressive congress and The Deputy governor of Kogi state, His Excellency Chief Edward David Onoja.
The deputy governor, David Onoja garnered a total votes of 4,500 to lead Natasha Akpoti who recorded 2,300 votes while Senator Smart Adeyemi assembled a total votes of 93.
It was recalled that the online voting witnessed so many controversies as some persons called for the cancellation of the poll, saying that the votes recorded by Edward Onoja were fake from foreigners.
