Eid-el-Fitr: Kogi Police command ready, set for criminals.

Kogi State Police Command, has reiterated that its tempo in the fight against crime and criminality remains unequivocal and unwavering.

In his 2021 Eid el Fitr message and felicitation with the Muslims, the state Commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba Ekpeji, assured the people of the state that adequate security measures has been put in place to ensure a hitch free celebrations.

The Sallah message which was contained in a press release signed by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Aya (DSP) reiterates the Command’s level of preparedness in synergy with other security agencies in the State to ensure adequate protection of lives and properties during and after the celebrations.

According to the release, CP Ekpeji assured members of the public that the Command has made adequate deployment of its personnel across the State to secure public places and guarantee a safe and secure environment for all.

According to DSP Aya, the state Commissioner of Police also charged the Area Commanders, Tactical and operational Commanders as well as the Divisional Police Officers (DPO’s) to ensure a hitch free celebrations in their area of responsibilities.

He equally urged the law abiding members of the public to go about their lawful activities and warned all trouble makers to desist from any act capable of disrupting the existing peace the State is enjoying, warning that the Command will not hesitate to deal with any one caught committing any act of lawlessness in the State.

The Commissioner of Police therefore called on the members of the public to report suspicious objects, movements and activities around their neighborhood to the Police or any other security agencies in the State to enable prompt response to mitigate the act.

The Commissioner of Police therefore thanked the Kogi State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahay Bello, for his continue support and encouragement to the Police in the fight against crime and criminality in the State.

He also commended the traditional rulers as the custodians of culture for their roles in implementing the Community Policing Project in their various Communities. The religious leaders for their prayers, the Press for being partners and supporters in the fight against criminality in the State, the vigilante, the hunters as well as patriotic members of the public for their support with credible information which has led to the arrest and prosecution of some criminal elements terrorizing the good people of the State.

The CP commended the heads of Security agencies in the State on the effective synergy in the fight against criminality. Also to members of the Police Command’s management team for their continue support to make the Command achieved a relative peace we are enjoying.
