As Kogi Muslim faithful joins their counterparts around the globe to commemorate this year’s, (2022) Eid EL-FITRI FESTIVAL which climaxes an end to the weeks-long fasting period (Holy month of Ramadan), the state Auditor General, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala has felicitated with the State Executive Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, members of the New Direction Team, Muslim Ummah and the entire citizens on this year’s Sallah celebration.

Okala in a Sallah felicitation message which was made available to Media Organizations in Lokoja expressed gratitude to Allah(SWT) for making it rancor-free for adherents of Holy Prophet Mohammed to have successfully gone through the thirty days fast and overcome all the hiccups the period posed to the Muslim faithful.

He encouraged them to sustain the tempo of the teaching and lessons learned during the Ramadan period to permeate them even as the fasting period is over, asserting that Prophet Mohammed’s attributes are love, unity, peace, meekness, justice, good neighborliness, and implored them to emulate His ordinances for a better society.

Alhaji Y.Y Okala remarked that Eid-el- Fitri Festival is a season that beacon the believers to reflect on the profound true love, self-denial, compassion, forgiveness, sacrifice, discipline, and faith in Almighty Allah (swa) and equally pray for His Mercy to intervene in the numerous crises of economic depression and insecurity affecting the country and its citizens.

His word:Islam teaches Muslim Ummah how to live a better life by upholding justice and tolerance which are some of the ingredients required to promote public interest and peaceful society,’ Okala said.

”There’re powerful lessons which Nigerians of all creeds and ideological persuasions need to imbibe after breaking of fast, the citizens should abandon the path of selfishness, greed, violence, and hate, but shows commitment to a life of love, humility, services. ‘ Sallah’ challenges Muslim Ummah and non-Muslims alike to embrace those higher values exemplified in Prophet Muhammad that guarantee ultimate fulfillment for individuals and lasting peace for the societies”.

YY Okala used the venue to call on the citizens to pray for the realization of the Political aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello to fly the flag of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress Presidential ticket, and become victorious at the next year’s poll.

Nigeria and Nigerians will benefit and gain from Governor Bello’s quality and results-oriented leadership presidency as insecurity would become a history under his eagle watch, Okala further stated”.

While wishing Muslim Ummah and the generality of the people of the state a happy Sallah celebration, Okala however admonished them not to see it as only a merry-making or extravagant Festival but as a season of a new life and a new beginning for the citizens.
