Eid-El-Maulud: Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development Congratulates Muslims, Urges Them To Pray For Peace

Following the declaration of Thursday, 29th October, 2020, as Public Holiday by the Federal Government of Nigeria to mark the Eid-el-Maulud, which is the occasion celebrating the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the Permanent Secretary, Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Agwai, on behalf of the Ministry, has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah, the world over, on the festivity.

In a statement signed and issue by Eche Amos, PRO,
Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, said the Permanent Secretary admonished Muslims and other indigenes of the State to use the occasion to pray for the peace, progress and unity of the State and nation at large.

According to the Permanent Secretary, the teachings of Islam are centred on belief in God, devotion and service to humanity as captured in the Holy Quran, hence the need to follow the virtues of the great Prophet.

While urging celebrants a hitch-free celebration, Abdullahi Aliyu Agwai urged indigenes and residents in the State to intensify their unalloyed support to the administration of Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule, as well as shun acts capable of jeopardising the peace and sanity that exist in the State.
