The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has staged a sensitization campaign on Ember Months for Toto Local Government Citizens.
In view of the numerous road crashes witnessed during the months of November to December every year, the Federal Roads Safety Commission, FRSC, as part of its routine activities has embarked on sensitisation aimed at reducing road accidents.
It was noted that especially during and after Ember Month, the officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission Nasarawa/Toto unit command usually embark on sensitization campaign aimed at not only reducing road crashes but also on first aid tips for victims of any road accident.
The unit commandant Assistant Corp Marshal, Ishaku Salihu Hassan said though the activities of the commission is not adequately felt in Toto due to inadequate man power, however assured the chairman that with the Council’s cooperation in no distance time full fledge activities of the commission will soon commence.
Hassan said today’s visit was basically to create awareness on some safety measures and of course first aid tips on how to assist accident victims before taking them to the hospital for medical attention ,
He thanked the chairman for the warm reception calling for cooperation from other security agents and relevant stakeholders for the safety of our road and it’s users.
Responding the chairman speaking through his deputy, Hon. Abubakar Haruna Kwanakis, expressed the Council’s appreciation for the Corp visit,
Kwanakis said the visit is timely and therefore appealed to the Unit Commandant to as a matter of urgency fast track the movement for full take off of members activities in the area,
He also assured of the Council readiness to support in whatsoever Way for immediate take off.
During the sensitization campaign, a lecture with the theme ” First Aid Tips for Road Accident victims”. was delivered by Toto Local Government Corp Officer Bulus with attendance cutting across critical stakeholders on transport activities such as members NURTW, commercial motorcycle riders association, Marketers associations, security agents and among others.
