The entire members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kabba/Bunu LGA read with amazements different stories on social media and some known bloggers sites on how some so called critical leaders endorsed some unpopular aspirants in Kiri in Kabba/ Bunu LGA of Kogi state for the up coming Council Election.
A statement by a group, from the area stated that though the said final endorsement exercise that disorganized the so called critical stakeholders were led by few who later proceeded to Abuja to submit their lone aspirant to Sen Smart Adeyemi, failed as was surprisingly led by the supposed number 3 man of Kogi State.
But If this laughable and callous endorsement is to fly, why the rush to submit to the senator, instead of submitting his aspirant to the Governor through the Chief of Staff Running from pillar to post shouldn’t be from the number 3 man who should know better.
Hon Emmanuel Ampitan a.k.a Chemical was the first to be endorsed and taking to the senator by some group within the speaker’s camp, followed by another mini group who preferred Hon Folorunsho Buraimoh who is an in-law to Hon Duro Meseko.
Eventually, a meeting was called at the instant of the speaker where he pleaded that they should harmonise to pick one acceptable aspirant.
The Security Adviser to the Governor Commander Omodara was insulted by the speaker, for betraying him to have gone to Abuja with Hon Folorunsho Buraimoh FOB to Sen Smart Adeyemi for endorsement.
The retired Navy Commander, who felt bad returned his insult to his face. This continued until other leaders were able to douse the tension.
Our source at the meeting said, at the end of the trouble, the speaker pleaded to be allowed to present his own candidate Mr Emmanuel Ampitan who is his Personal Assistance, but was bluntly rejected by LGA Party chairman, Secretary, LGA women leader, Hon Duro Meseko, Hon Wemi Jones and Commander Omodara who is Security Adviser to the Gov and Hon Nathaniel Ojo.
Something went wrong again as Security Adviser suggested Hon FOB or Hon Towonifini both from Akutupa Kiri but was turned down by the speaker and his mini camp.
Since they couldn’t agree on a better candidate to fly the ticket, the Speaker suggested that Hon Moses should be returned in which Hon Olorumosunle Medusa, LGA party Chairman, Secretary and Women Leader kicked against the idea, even while other critical stakeholders kept mute. The Friday meeting was adjourned to regroup for final decision on Saturday.
Most of Bunu district critical stakeholders were absent to take the last decision on the Saturday meeting.
Hon Toba Kehinde the past Commissioner of Agriculture wasn’t carried along from the beginning because the speaker believes he’s not a politician but a technocrat, Hon Meseko, former National Assembly member, Member Assembly commission and past DG BelloNoja Campaign Organisation, Commander Omodara Security Adviser to the Gov and others were not in attendance. Hon Wemi Jones, Hon Nathaniel and Hon Medusa went ahead to endorse Ariyo Kemuna from Aiyetoro Kiri Ward.
This is a man [Ariyo Kemuna] who couldn’t win his polling unit from day one of recall, Presidential election, Senate Assembly and even the Governorship election.
Also the party Chairman Hon Elisha Medusa who couldn’t get to his village unit on the day of election, since he’s not on ground not to talk of winning election is seen to have taken a wrong step in the endorsement saga.
“I will use this opportunity to challenge Ariyo Kemuna and Hon Elisha Medusa our Party Chairman to publish their election results from the first election mentioned above to the last one.
“Every party member from Bunu district who are interested should be allowed to get their intent form, screened and prepare for proper primary election in a later date that will be announce by a constituted authority.
“There have been no time our great party APC goes into such illegal process in choosing a candidate for Election.
