The highly elated political leader, in his personal magnanimity, supported 250 women across the Lokoja/ Koto federal constituency with hundreds of thousands of naira to compliment their petty businesses.
The generous Philanthropist also wiped away tears of about 150 indigent students with various sums of money as scholarships.

Part of the birthday celebrations held at the Lokoja Local Government Youth Centre in Lokoja metropolis on Monday, turned into Ododo carnival and rally as every speech made by the dignitaries were greeted with APC and Ododo chants and thunderous applause.
Many people that witnessed the celebration mistook it for a political rally for the ruling party and its candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Despite the banner depicting the 44th anniversary of the versatile young Commissioner, the Youths and supporters of the APC used the opportunity to celebrate both Bashir Gegu at 44 and Ahmed Usman Ododo as the potential Kogi state Governor.
The occasion which was billed to last just some few hours, could not end as scheduled due to the number of people who attended and the unending entertainments, dance and drinks.
It took security operatives hours to secure exit for the Commissioner and his entourage from venue of the celebration as the crowd because uncontrollable.
Engineer Bashir Gegu in his speech, thanked Almighty God for the good life and opportunity given to him to serve the state and humanity.

He assured the people of Lokoja/Koto of more dividends of democracy from the APC administration when Ahmed Usman Ododo and his running mate Joel Salifu assume office in January next year.
He commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his wonderful performances throughout the eight years in office, when Kogi became not only the freest but the safest in Nigeria.
The Commissioner described Bello as the God sent to emancipate, librate and redeem the State and its people that have been in political, economic and social bondage by some few elements who tasted power and continue to clamour for more.
He said the role of the opposition political parties in Kogi state has been very appalling especially when they lost elections throughout the era of the New Direction administration.

He appealed to the electorate to reject the PDP and its new collaborator SDP, because their agenda will only retard the great leaps the Bello administration has made if power is entrusted to them.
