Engr. Bashir Gegu Describes Hajia Rashidat Bello as a Humanitarian, Commends Her Visit to Igbogo Community

Before the dispensation of the GYB-led administration in Kogi State, political appointees and aspirants are only seen at the grassroots only when campaign draws nigh, but the reverse has been the case under Governor Yahaya Bello as his wife, Hajia Rashidat Bello visited Igbogo Community in Kogi/Koton-Karfe Local Government Area of the State to supervise the Water Scheme project she started two years ago in the Area.

Reacting to the visit, Kogi State Commissioner of Solid Minerals And Natural Resources, Engr. Bashir Gegu, describes the First Lady, Hajia Rashidat Bello as a rare humanitarian and a true mother who has proven her love for the people of the Area through the visit.

Engr. Bashir Gegu pointed out that one of the major plight the people of the Area have been faced with over the years was portable water supply, pointing out that Her Excellency’s gesture has not only brought succour to the people but has also helped to increase their well being.

“Her Excellency, Hajia Rashidat Bello is a humanitarian and indeed a pillar behind our Boss, our mentor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello the Executive Governor of our dear State, Kogi. She came to Igbogo Community and the entire LG to check the water Scheme project she started sometimes ago. She has done tremendously well in a quest of uplifting the people of this Area. Her visit had shown that she has the people of the Area at heart and we are grateful to her”

He continued “in the past, the people of the Community treck for two or more kilometers before they can access stream water which is not even hygienic but today, the narratives have changed with the intervention of Her Excellency’s Water Scheme which has given birth to not less than 20 boreholes sunk in KKLG. We are very grateful and we pray that Almighty Allah will continue to take you to greater heights (amin)”

The Commissioner pointed out that the promise of Hajia Rashidat Bello at maintening the various boreholes was an added blessing to the people of the Community, and praised her for lavishing such motherly love on the people of the Area.

Engr. Bashir Gegu enjoined the people to take ownership of the projects which he said has in no small measure brought succur to them.

He enjoined them to continue in their unflinching support to the Governor Yahaya Bello-led Administration whom he described as a true pratitional of democracy as the people at the grassroots now feel the positive impact of governance.

The First Lady, Hajia Rashidat Bello, was represented at the tour by her Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Women and Children Affairs, Mrs. Sandra Musa as other illustrious sons/daughters of the Area, including the Chairman, Kogi State Civil Service Commission, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku and the incumbent Executive Chairman of the Area, Abdulkareem Ekomog among others were present at the visit.
