Kogi State Commissioner of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Bashir-Gegu says the establishment of Gold Processing Cluster at Mopa-Muro Local Government Areas of the State will create more employment opportunities to the teeming youths of the State.
Engr. Bashir Gegu who stated this in an interview said he was glad that such huge project was being established at the time he is serving as the State Commissioner of the Ministry in the State, stressing that the project will also bring about rapid development to the host Community and the State at large.
The Commissioner noted that the project will go a long way at reducing youth restiveness and as well, address unemployment as many from the North geopolitical zone Will be afforded opportunities to work.
“This is indeed a huge project that will definitely address a lot of issues in the society. It will serve as employment opportunity, the host community and the State in general will witness more development, the economic activities of the people will surely improve among other goodies that this project comes with”
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Mines and Steel Development and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for their efforts at nurturing such initiative, describing it as a life time project that generations to come will benefit from.
The Commissioner also appreciated the State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello for creating enabling environment for such laudable project to see the light of the day in the State, stressing that he has once again proven his commitment towards ensuring better life for the people of the State.
“I lack words to appreciate every actors that contributed towards bringing this project to reality starting with the President of the Country, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, and of course, my own Boss, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello whose arms are always open wide to embrace development, and the traditional rulers too for providing land for the takeoff of this all important project. I tell you, this is just the beginning of other massive projects that will be coming to Kogi State Insha Allah”
He described the people of the Area as very hospitable, assuring investors, engineers and others from neighboring States of adequate security and a friendly working environment all through their stay.
