The immediate past minister of state, mines and steel development, Dr Uche Sampson Ogah, has sued for prayer for the success of the incoming government in Abia state.

He stated this at a recent visit to new Abia Governor-elect, Alex Otti during the weekend.

The visitation came on the heels of Otti’s recent emergence as winner and the new Governor-elect of the state at a concluded Gubernatorial election held in Abia, on 18th March, 2023 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Otti, an ex-bank chief and the state labour party (LP) Governorship flagbearer, polled a total of 175, 467 votes cast to beat his closest rival and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Okey Ahiwe, who scored 88,529 votes to come second in the just concluded state elections

The flagbearer of the Young Progressive Party(YPP), Enyinnaya Nwafor came a distant third with 28,972 votes while Mr Ikechi Emenike, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC), scored a total of 24,091 votes to gain a fourth place.

Earlier during the vist, Dr Ogah, who doubled as the Abia leader of the All Progressives Congress and the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Masters Energy Limited, called on people of the state irrespective of political affiliation to pray for the success of the incoming administration in the state.

He used the opportunity to congratulate Otti on his recent landslide victory at the just-concluded governorship election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The Abia chieftain also wished the outgoing government a peaceful tenure end.

Ogah partly stated, “It was indeed a meeting of like-minds as the two great leaders and technocrats of note had a fruitful discussion which centered on Abia development.

“Now politics is over, lets come together as brothers and sisters irrespective of our differences and work collectively for the good of our people”.

While receiving the ex-minister and wife, Ngozi, at his Nvosi isiala Ngwa residence on Saturday, the Abia Governor-elect, Dr Alex Otti, expressed gratitude over the friendly visit, wishing his special guests and entourage safe journey back to various their homes.
