Farmer/herder clash: Toto LG Chairman condemn Killing, call for calm, orders arrest of perpetrators

The executive Chairman Toto local government council of Nasarawa State, Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, has condemned the killing of a Fulani man and appealed to farmers/herders to sheath their swords in the overall interest of relative peace the area is enjoying over the years.

The Chairman who was represented by his Vice Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Haruna Kwanakis stated this when he led a high power delegation comprising council Secretary, Hon. Mohammed Zakari, Toto LG Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Shuaibu Ahmed and some security personnel to Tudu-Uku on a condolence visit to the family of Late Malam Dauda who passed away as a result of an alleged farmers/herders clash in the area.

A press statement signed and issued by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media Communications to the Chairman, Yahaya Idris Toto, said his administration will not condoned any act of lawlessness or ethnic profiling even as he charged the security agencies to bring the perpetrators to book as to serve as deterrent to others.

According to the council spokesman, Hon Aliyu Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas who is better over the unfortunate incidents immediately order security agents in the area to arrest and ensure murderers of the gruesome killing of the Fulani man are immediately brought to book.

Global Times Nigeria report that Late Malam Dauda died monday, 31st October, 2022.

While condoling the bereaved family and those who sustained various degrees of injuries, Paramount ruler of Fulani in Toto LGC and Ardor in charge of Gadabuke district to take the lost as an acts of Allah.

“My administration is committed to protecting lives and property of all citizens respective of tribes and regions. I want all of you to cooperate with the council and security agents as to unravelled the murderers and made them face the full wrath of the law.”

Speaking, Alhaji Bangoji the father of the deceased appreciated the council under the pragmatic leadership of Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas for prompt intervention and for considering them worthy for visit.

However, Bangoji emphasised the need to sensitized the farmers to always seek for amicable resolution of any misunderstanding as against taking law into their hands and killing each others.

Contributing, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Lawal Ardor Gadabuke district and Alhaji Jabo Abdullahi the Sarkin Fulani of the local government commended Hon. Tashas inclusivity leadership and his prompt action leading to saving many lives during the unfortunate, the herders said the security personnel sent by the Chairman did a wonderful job.

The executive visit had some head of security agencies and with promised to carried the Chairman’s new order.
