The chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in the FCT, Hon. Danladi Chiya, has urged the house of representatives member – elect for Abuja south, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, for an all inclusive representation.
Our correspondent reported that, INEC had declared Ajiya of the APC winner of the February, 25, 2023 house of representative seat for Abuja south federal constituency, after he polled 51,502 to defeat the incumbent member, Alhaji Hassan Usman Sokodabo of the PDP, who got 47,376 votes.
Chiya, who is also the incumbent chairman of Kwali area council of FCT, was accompanied by members of his legislative arm, made the call during his congratulatory visit to the house of representative member – elect at his residence in Abaji, on Monday.
He said there was the need for the Abuja south reps member – elect to see his victory for the entire people of Abuja south irrespective of tribe, religious, ethnic and political differences.
He, however, said that he and his colleagues were overwhelmed with the victory of the reps member – elect, while describing him as a grassroots politician that started as local government chairman.
“It is obvious that leadership comes from God. And today, the reps member – elect is the only APC candidate that emerged victorious during the last Saturday, election in FCT, which I believe he will carry everyone along,” he said.
He prayed and wished God’s guidance to the house of representative member – elect to pilot the affairs of Abuja south.
“Beisdes, it is not easy to unseat an incumbent house of representative member, but you can see what God has done, as he is an now icon of the FCT and God will not let him down,” he added.
