The chairman of the Kwali area council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Hon Danladi Chiya, said stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) must come together immediately to commence the reconciliation process ahead of next year’s general election.
China, made the call when he paid a congratulatory visit to the FCT senatorial candidate, Alhaji Zakaria Angulu Dobi, at his country home in Dobi, Gwagwalada area council on Monday.
He said there was the need for all the APC stakeholders across the six area councils to be involved in the reconciliation process to enhance unity within the party.
He said there was no time to seat back after the primaries, saying the major task ahead is how the party will restrategize to ensure victory during the general election.
According to him, there was a need for APC stakeholders and party stalwarts to come together and commence touring rural communities to sensitize the electorate on the need to vote massively for the APC senatorial candidate during the election.
” I don’t think seating back after winning primaries is the end of it. As we have a lot of work ahead of us, the APC has to urgently set up a reconciliation committee to see how the aggrieved aspirants and there are brought together so that we will come out victorious during the general election,” he said.
Responding, the FCT APC senatorial candidate, Alhaji Zakari Angulu Dobi, appreciated the party’s delegates and all the stakeholders for their efforts towards ensuring that he emerged as the party’s flagbearer for the forthcoming general election.
He pledged to give priority to education, youth, and women empowerment as well as enhancing the sense of belonging to the good people of the FCT when he is given the mandate to represent the people of the territory at the national assembly in 2023.
Our correspondent report that Alhaji Zakari Angulu Dobi, who was the immediate mandate secretary for Transport of the FCT administration won the APC ticket during primaries held at the Women Development Center, Abuja on Saturday.
