FCT Area Councils, Stakeholders Share N3,726,007,503.49Bn Allocation

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has disbursed a total sum of N3,726,007,503. 49 billion to the six Area Councils in the FCT and other stakeholders as its share of statutory allocation for November 2021.

The figure indicates a major decline in revenue from N4,476,067,191.05 billion disbursed in October to N3,726,007,503.49 billion in November, representing a 16.8 percent decrease.

A press statement issued and signed by  Austine Elemue, S.A Media To FCT Minister of State, December 23, 2021, said FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, who presided over the 160th Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC), commended all stakeholders for their cooperation, despite challenges recorded in the past.

The figures released also indicate that the sum of N1, 767, 197, 906. 24 billion was made available for distribution to the six area councils, while the sum of N1, 958, 809, 597. 25billion was made available to other stakeholders, bringing the total sum to N3, 726, 007, 503. 49billion.

However, distributions to area councils show that the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), received N343, 069, 976. 60 million, while Gwagwalada got N347, 078, 072.19 million and Kuje received N271, 445, 070. 89million.

Other area councils include, Bwari Area Council received N260,128, 716.17million, Abaji got N272, 495, 125. 97million and Kwali received N272, 980, 944. 42million bringing the total sum to N1, 767,197, 906. 24billion disbursed to the six area councils.

Furthermore, distribution to other stakeholders includes Primary School Teachers which gulped N1, 587,221, 127. 01 billion, 15 percent Pension Funds took N226, 478, 989. 57 million, One percent Training Fund gulped N37, 260, 075. 04million, while 10 percent Employer Pension Contribution gulped N107, 849, 405. 63 million, bringing the total sum to N1, 958, 809, 597.25 billion.

The minister, however, used the occasion to charge area council authorities and other stakeholders to intensify efforts in ensuring timely evacuation of refuse during the festive period, noting that more domestic wastes are generated during holiday seasons.

While calling for more commitment and synergy on the part of all stakeholders, the minister however commended them for showing understanding in the distribution of monthly allocation to area councils and other stakeholders.

Those present at the 160th Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC), meeting include the FCTA Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusade Adesola, Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Hon. Abdullahi Sabo, Mandate Secretary Area Council Services, Malam Abubakar Ibrahim, Special Assistant on Area Council Services, Alhaji Muhammad Saba, Vice Chairmen of  Gwagwalada, Kwali, Bwari, and Abuja Municipal Area Council amongst others.
