Tears flowed freely as the remains of the Etsu of Kwali chiefdom, His Royal Highness (HRH) Alhaji Sha’aban Audu Nizazo, (III) was laid to rest at the deceased private residence in Kwali town on Friday.
Our correspondent had reported that the late Etsu of Kwali chiefdom died on Thursday, evening at Nisa Premier hospital in Abuja, where he had gone for medical checkup.
Late Nizazo’s corpse was conveyed to Kwali township stadium amid tears especially among his subjects in company of the Ona of Abaji Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa and other traditional rulers, where the funeral prayers took place.
The funeral prayers was attended by the representative of the FCT minister, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Dantsoho, mandate secretary of the area council service secretariat, Senator Philip Aduda, 16 upgraded chiefs, district heads, village chiefs and among other top government officials/politicians.
However, the FCT minister, Muhammad Musa Bello, represented by the mandate secretary of the area council service secretariat, Alhaji Abubakar Dantsoho, said he was saddened over the demised of the late traditional ruler.
He described the death of the monarch as a great loss to not only people of Kwali chiefdom but the entire FCT, saying the deceased has been one of those that had been advising the minister towards area of security.
The minister, therefore, urged the people of the territory to continue to pray for the deceased, while he also prayed for God to grant the family fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Also, Senator Philip Aduda, representing the FCT, described the death of the late monarch a sad moment for him, saying his relationship with the deceased was so intimate.
He described the deceased as a father, saying he said he always walked to him to seek for his wise counsel especially on issues that relate with the people of the FCT.
The senate minority leader, further described the monarch’s demise as an immeasurable loss to not Kwali, FCT but the entire country, said the deceased had exemplified leadership towards leading his people across Kwali chiefdom.
“In fact, the late Etsu of Kwali Alhaji Sha’aban Nizazo, was somebody very amiable and extremely cosmopolitan. And even when we are at cross road. And when you reached him, he will guide you and you will get the best result,” he said.
