Gwagwalada LG Vice Chairman, Hon Mohammed Kasim, Resigns From APC, Joins PDP and alleged unjust and undemocratic activities in the conduct of the party affairs in FCT.

The incumbent Vice Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Mohammed Kasim Ikwa, has resigned his membership of the ruling All Progressives (Congress APC), and defected to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the area.

Global Times Nigeria report that the vice chairman, was among the APC chairmanship aspirant during the just concluded primaries in the area.

Kasim, in his resignation of membership of the party in a letter to the APC ward chairman of Ikwa ward, a copy of which was obtained by our reporter, said his resignation from the party was due to unjust and undemocratic activities in the conduct of the party affairs in FCT.

“While I wish the party (APC) best of luck, I sincerely thank you for the opportunity to serve,” the vice chairman said in the letter.

Meanwhile, the vice chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Kasim Ibwa, has formally joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at his Ikwa ward of the council yesterday.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after he obtained his membership card from the PDP ward chairman, said his decision to join the PDP was necessitated by his desire to politically aligned with the giant strides of the party in the FCT and Nigeria at large.

He said it became imperative for him to affirmed that such decision was not unilateral one but was unanimously taken after thorough consultations with his terming supporters, friends, families, elders and stakeholders in his ward of Gwagwalada Area council.
