FHA Moves To Construct Smart City in Abuja.

The Federal Housing Authority FHA has concluded plans to build a smart city in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The Managing Director, Senator Gbenga Ashafa stated this while on a working visit to the area with the Minster of State , Works and Housing, Alhaji Umar El-Yakubu during the visit located in Kabuso, Shishipe 11 in Abuja metropolis.

The Managing Director says the Abuja model City is 11 km stretch and drive from the city centre ,with serene and natural endowments that will attract more development in the nearest future.

Senator Gbenga Ashafa states that when completed it will compete favourably with the most notable world smart
cities in the world.

“We are already discussing with the villagers to agree on compensation and road linkages along FCDA , with the visit we are moving forward to consummate our discussions. “Senator Ashafa said.

The land which is about 700 hectares, as the authority is preparing to commence payment of compensation.Senator Ashafa stated.

The Minister of State , Works and Housing expressed satisfaction with the virgin site,saying it will attract more development through private public partnership in Nigeria.

He says the project is expected to take off soon, as planing had been in the offing for some times now.

He described the community as mix and geared towards creating more employment opportunities, jobs and reduced poverty across the country.
