Construction company has commenced work at Gadabuke-Gwargwada road in Toto local government area of Nasarawa state to boost food production in the area which are predominant farmers.

This followed the award for the construction by the federal ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as captured in this year’s revised appropriation act.

The project according to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture is in line with this year’s revised appropriation act for Covid-19 intervention to implement projects that will address the plights of Nigerians.

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has awarded contract for the construction of rural roads in the country and In Nasarawa state, one of such is the award of “construction of 3.KM aspaltic road at Gadabuke – Gwargwada road in Toto LGA”.

Gadabuke-Gwargwada road is a 7km road that is contributing in the transportation of farm produce given to the agririan nature of the area.

Member representing Toto Gadabuke at the Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Usman Labaran Shafa visited the site to ascertain the level of work done so far and appreciated the federal government for the construction of the road.

“From Gadabuke to Gwargwada is seven kilometers and according to the contractual agreement between the federal ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the construction company is that only 3 kilometers will be constructed,it is on this note that we send a big thank you to the federal government and appealed to our amiable,reliable and the peoples Governor to intervene and complete the remaining four kilometers for us”Hon Shafa said.

For now, the construction is on going and the company is promising to adhere to contractual agreement to complete the work within the stipulated time as revealed by one of the engineers, John Okpani.

If completed, the Gadabuke-Gwalgwada road will bring relief to the people of Gadabuke given the deplorable condition of the road and its important to the socio economic activities of the area and the state.
