Gambo Re-elected as Kwali council’s NULGE branch chairman

Comrade Gambo Dogo, has been re -elected for second term as the Kwali area council branch chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), at its 8th quadrennial delegate conference held in Kwali area council.

The chairman of the electoral committee, who was also the retuning officer of the election, which held at the council conference hall on Tuesday, Mr David Iyah, while announcing the result, said Gambo scored 188 votes to defeat his opponent, Comrade Baba Sani Kwali, who scored 83 votes.

He said: “And Comrade Gambo Dogo Kwali, having scored the highest numbers of votes and satisfied with the requirements of the law is hereby declared as winner and returned re -elected as Kwali area council branch chairman of NULGE,” he said.

Other executives that were returned unopposed included Patience Jigo vice chairman, Aso Abdullahi Treasurer, Comrade Shafas Mohammed, secretary Tanko Bulus, Assistant secretary, Halima T. Abdullahi, Auditor, Mathew Yakubu Yebu, Trustee, Seriat O. Sadiq, chairman person and Abdulkareem Mohammed, youth representative.

In his acceptance speech, the re -elected NULGE branch chairman, Comrade Gambo Dogo, appreciated the delegates for the confidence they have in him to re -elect him to pilot affairs of the union for another four year term.

He assured tp carried them along towards ensuring that welfare and other entitlement of workers of the council are given the desire priority.

Meanwhile, Comrade Baba Sani, who lost out in the election has congratulated the NULGE branch chairman in his victory, which he described the election as keenly contested one.

“Besides, there is always a winner and looser in an election contest, which I accept the defeat. And I promised to join hands with the re -elected NULGE branch chairman to move the union forward,” he said.

Sani, appreciated the delegates for their support for him, even as he urged his supporters to join hands with him in order for the re -elected NULGE chairman to deliver in his manifesto.
