Gov. Bello Appeals To The People of Kogi To Unite For Dividend Of Democracy In His Second Term.

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has appealed to the people of the state to put aside all differences of politics, ideology or affiliation and joined hands with his administration to give the state best of governance in his second term in office.

Governor Bello who made the call on Monday in Lokoja shortly after taking the oath of office administered by the state chief Judge Justice Nasiru Ajanah as the 4th executive governor of the state, promised that his second term would bring to a revitalized system in delivering refocused governance, calling on all to support the government to achieve its laudable programmes for the rapid development of the state.

“My primary allegiance as governor will remain to Kogi state and her citizens, not to party or tribe. Every one is my citizen and I owe every one the protections and fidelities inherent in the office.

“It is on this note that I enjoined all kogites to look forward to the next four years with optimism and great expectation. We will do everything in our power as government to make sure that the state is productive, prosperous and peaceful” he said

According to the Governor his mission for the state in his second term is to sustain focus on agriculture for improved food security, mass employment and increase in Internally Generated Revenue .

He pointed out that agricultural revolution which he has kick started in the first term would be taken to the next level of development.

“Specifically, rice, cassava , cashew, aquaculture and livestock will remain the bed rock of our activities in the agricultural sector.

“Outside agriculture, we are also going to pay greater attention to human capital development by investing more in training our people for enhanced relevance in a technologically evolving future.

“We will embark on large scale urban renewal projects that would further transform Lokoja into a resilient capital city with modern utilities attractive to tourists” he noted.

He therefore appealed to the people of the state to give their cooperation and support to the government by ensuring that there is peace and adequate security of lives and property in the state to enable the government transform the state.

10 governors from APC ruling states graced the inauguration of governor Yahaya Bello for second term in office .

The swearing ceremony took place at Glass House in Government House, Lokoja on Monday, with the oath of office administered by the the Chief Judge of Kogi State , Justice Nasiru Ajanah on Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy , David Onoja at about 12 noon .

Among the APC governors that attended the occasion are the Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, the Chairman Nigeria Governor’s Forum, Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, Chairman APC governors Forum, Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong, Chairman Northern Governors forum.

Others are Kwara State governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, Yobe State governor, Maimala Bunu, Borno State Governor , Professor Baba Gana Umara Zulum

Other dignitaries that graced the occasion are the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomole , Senator Smart Adeyemi, Kogi West, Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho, Kogi East and Senator Oseni Yakubu, Kogi Central

Others are Kogi State Chairman of APC, Abdullahi Bello, the Immediate past Chairman of APC, Haddy Ametuo, Former House Representives members, Abdulkarim Isah Usman Wambai, Sunday, Karimi, Tijani Damisa, Abdulrahman Badamosiyu.

The Traditional rulers that attended the occasion include, the President Kogi State traditional council, Atta Igala, HRH Michael Amen Oboni, Vice President Kogi State traditional Council and Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim .

Others are Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Owoniyi, and the Ohimege Igu of Koto-Karfe, Alhaji Abdulrazak Sani Isah Koto.
