In a bid to checkmate criminal activities, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has ordered the closure of all brothels harboring criminals with immediate effect.
Wearing a facemask in public places has also been banned as part of security measures for the proper identification of individuals in the state.
Governor Bello handed down the order on Tuesday in Lokoja when he met with all first and second-class traditional rulers including Local Government Council Chairmen.

He also directed that all Shanties in Lokoja, Osara, Zango, Itobe, Obajana, and all other locations in the state be removed and demolished.
The Governor equally directed the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Local Government Chairmen, Union leaders, and Security agencies to meet with tricycle and motorcycle riders for proper documentation.

Governor Bello also urged All the traditional rulers to safeguard their domains and ensured all the nooks and crannies of their areas are cleared for proper vision.
He used the occasion to sympathize with the families of the killed security agents killed by terrorists in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the state.

While warning politicians of all political parties in the strongest terms, about their conduct, advised them to steer clear of anything that could disrupt the peace of the people and the security they presently enjoy.
He, therefore, urged all the Council Chairmen as well as Security agencies to continue their legitimate duties without fear or favour.
