Global Times Nigeria reports that the wedding Fatiha of Amina Salihu, daughter of former Koton-Karfe state constituency lawmaker, former Commissioner, Board Chairman, Rubber Research Institute, Benin, Edo State and member of board in UBEB, Abuja, Hon. Chief Saidu Akawu Salihu brought together who is who from within and outside Kogi State.
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello led top government functionaries, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa, the immediate past Administrator of Kogi LG, two serving lawmakers from Koton-karfe, Lokoja II state constituencies, Hon. Muhammed Abubakar Tanko Okofi, Hon. Idris Ndako and former house of Representatives member due for Lokoja, Koton-Karfe federal constituency, Hon Isah Abdulkarim Wambai were among dignitaries who attended the wedding of Chief Saidu Akawu Salihu’s daughter on Saturday at Odaki in Koton-Karfe, Kogi local government area of the State.
In attendance were board Chairmen, members from outside Kogi State, Hon. Abdullahi Suleiman Idowu, APC Chairmanship Aspirant in Kogi LG, Hon. Mohammed Dansebe Mohammed, former Administrator of Lokoja LG and APC Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Lawal Shiru, former Administrator of Lokoja, Hon. Bin-Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani, SSA on Water Resources to Governor Yahaya Bello, former Commissioner for transport, Hon. Muhammed Awal Imam, former SAs, SSAs, Small Governors, APC leaders across Kogi LG, others include Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Osada Toto, Nasarawa State, The rest were friends, family members and supporters of invited guests.
Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa and Hon. Muhammed Tanko Okofi were on ground assisting the bride father receiving dignitaries from all parts of the country.
During the wedding Fatiha of Akawu’s daughter, Amina at the family residences in Odaki, Koton-karfe, Kogi LG on Saturday, Governor Yahaya Bello, who stood as guardian to Amina, the bride, entrusted her into the hands of the groom’s representative in the presence of scholars, religions leaders and prominent politician among others.
The marriage was contracted after the payment of N50, 000 dowry, our source who attended the wedding fatiha confirmed.
The Governor used the occasion to call on political actors in the area to unite for common interest of the host LG. While advising the newly wedded couple he reminded them that marriage is sacrifice and hence to live peacefully with one another.
The ceremony was also attended by Kogi State Chief of Staff, Hon. Asuku, Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Sunday Faleke, former Kogi State Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Bello, former national and states assemblies, politicians as well as chiefs from all parts of the country.
