Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau State Brig. Gen. KA. Kazir, Mr. Edward Adamu, Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN), and Hon Mohammed Adamu Omadefu, member representing Keana Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly have bagged the highest award of excellence from Keffi Old Boys Association ( KOBA), an umbrella body for the alumni of Government College, Keffi, Nasarawa State for their contributions to the development of the institution, Nigeria and Humanity.

Others who got the award are Mallam Adamu Adamu, the Minister of Education, Amb. Denis Anthony, Mr. Paul Unongo, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Jibrin, Justice James Ogebe ( Rtd), Alhaji SM Zakari, Alhaji Isyaka Dauda the Madakin Lafia, Prof. Abdullahi Alkali Abba, Sen. Maina Ma’aji Lawan and Arch Shehu Ahmed Tukur.

Engr. Edward Ujege, the President General of KOBA announced the awards during the Annual General Meeting ( AGM) / Cheetah Gold Award and N1 billion Naira Launching for the completion of Umaru Musa Yar’adua e-library and Academic infrastructure at Government College, Keffi.

The event which took place Saturday at Shehu Yar’Adua Centre Abuja was organized by Keffi Old Boys Association ( KOBA).

The KOBA President General said that the awards were bestowed on them due to their immense positive contributions to the development of Government College, Keffi, Nigeria, and humanity in general.

Usage said that the award was aimed at encouraging KOBA members and others to continue to contribute their quota to the development of the education sector.

” The awards were bestowed on the awardees due to their immense positive contributions to the development of Government College Keffi, Nigeria and Humanity.

” I congratulate you all and I urge you to continue to contribute your quota positively to the Development of Government College Keffi, Nigeria, and humanity,” he said

Usage said that the Cheetah Awards represent the highest honor by the association to their supporters and members, who have done or are doing great things for the development of the college., Nigeria and humanity.

” It is, therefore, a recognition of service and a challenge to continue to serve for the benefit of humanity,” he added

He congratulated the recipients for the coveted Cheetah Awards 2022 for the recognition.

” The awards will continue to run as a tradition of KOBA to recognize and honor continuous service to society,” the President General said.

The President General appreciated Gov.Abdullahi Sule for the support the school has received and called for its sustenance.

Also speaking, First National Vice Chairman, Alh. Muhammad Lawal has appreciated the efforts of KOBA members and others in the development of the school.

Lawal has called for all hands to be on deck to improve the standard of education in the college.

On his part, the Chairman of the Occasion, Alhaji Umar Shettima Abba Gana has urged guests to donate generously to the development of the school.

He has also commended KOBA members and other spirited individuals for their commitment to the development of the school

In his speech, Gov Abdullahi Sule said that his administration has done so much for the development of the school.

He added that his administration has constructed roads to the school, and provisioned science laboratory equipment among others.

The Governor has restated his administration’s continued commitment to providing infrastructure in the school to create an enabling environment for learning and teaching.

Besides, the Governor while speaking on behalf of the awardees thanked KOBA for the awards and promised to continue to contribute positively to the development of the College.
