Gov. Sule seeks Nasarawa Assembly approval adjustment in 2022 budget.

“…As bill scales second reading at the floor of the house…”

Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has passed into second reading A Bill for a Law to Authorize the Issue Out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of The State ( 2022 Amended Appropriation) of the sum of N110, 849, 945, 879.49 for the Services of Nasarawa State Government to Complement for the Period Commencing from 1st January, 2022 and Ending 31st, December, 2022.

Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House announced the passage of the bill into first and second readings during the House proceedings in Lafia today.

The Speaker committed the bill to the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation to work on the bill and report back to the House on November, 7th, 2022.

” I will commit this bill to the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation to work on the bill and report back to the House on November, 7th, 2022,” he said.

The Speaker urged the committee to give the bill adequate attention to enable government continue to provide services to the people of the State.

On their parts, Hon Mohammed Okpoku, Hon Daniel Ogazi and Hon John Osewu commended Gov. Sule for submitting 2022 amended appropriation bill in line with accounting standard.

They said that the re-alignment and adjustment of the budget from on spend allocations to areas the money will be utilized would enable the Governor to continue to execute projects and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the State.

Earlier, Hon Umar Tanko Tunga, the Majority Leader of the House while presenting the bill on behalf of Gov. Abdullahi Sule said that 2022 budget size remain the same.

He said the 2022 amended appropriation was necessary to adjust and re-align some items in the budget that have not been used or utilized owing to the inflow and outflow of incomes and expenditures.

” It is adjustment and readjustment within the 2022 budget.

” Mr Speaker, the total budget size remain the same at N110, 849, 945, 879.49 only this reviewed 2022 budget only changes in line items of the inflow and outflow.

” Government share of FAAC increased from N47.2billion to N65.2billion while Internally Generated Revenue was reduced from N26.2billion to N22.1billion.

” Total capital receipts also decreased from N34.6billion to N20.6billion

” I present to the Honourable House of Assembly the 2022 amended Appropriation bill ,” he added.

It would be reported that the House suspended all its standing roles to enable them passed to Bill for first and second reading respectively during the day sitting considering the significance of the bill to the development of the State.

Similarly, the Speaker slated 21st Nov., 2022 for the second reading of a Bill for a Law to amend Nasarawa State Customary Courts Law and Other Matters Connected Therewith sponsored by Hon John Osewu

The bill scaled first reading during the House proceedings today in Lafia.

Further more, the Speaker slated Nov.22nd, 2022 for the second reading of a Bill for a Law to Amend Nasarawa State Area Courts Law and Other Matters Connected Thereto sponsored by Hon Mohammed Ibrahim Alkali.

The bill also scaled first reading during the House proceedings in Lafia.
